| I
would like to recommend the Galapogos (5-7 days), the Ecuadorian rain forest
(3 days)and a Brazilian beach (maybe Jericoacoara, Ceará State,
4-6 days). Michael, New York
Some friends of mine went to Aruba
for their honeymoon and enjoyed it tremendously. But I don't know
if you want to be in the warm beach climate. Hawaii caters to honeymooners
and it's also supposedly very beautiful there. I think it's the smaller
islands that are better than the main island. Again tropical sunny beach
climate. Morgan, Chicago.
It's really a "no brainer": Summer
- Jerusalem Winter - Elat. In both cases you should include a 2-3 day side
trip to Petra. Gil, Israel.
French Polonesia - Bora Bora, Rafi
in Istanbul
I went to Morocco this time last
year for vacation and loved the place. Beautiful, lots to see, lovely
people, great food, great bargain even if you stay in posh hotels.
You could stay in one of those transformed palaces. Which reminds me that
Spain has a whole system of Paradores, which is government-run hotels in
transformed palaces, monasteries, etc. Spain and Morocco make two
destinations (or rather, two countries) in one trip. How does that
grab ya? Elizabeth, New York
Italy: Rome, Tuscany, Florence, Capri
and Venice. Tuscany may well be a beter bet for a longer stay but Capri
is IT if you consider a two day stay there. Ayman, Bahrain
i'm partial to taking a honeymoon
in Staten Island. Great view of the river, lots to do, and easy access
to New Jersey. Your honeymoon hotline guru, David, New York
I think I would do a Pacific trip.
Maybe start from San Francisco and Napa Valley, then fly to Hawaii - stay
on the big island or Maui (avoid Oahu unless you have never been there)
and finally relax for a few days at the best resort in American Samoa before
returning to the mainland. David, Philadelphia.
For Me it's a no-brainer. Greek
Isles and either a cruise to Cyprus or adjacent Italy (preferably the south).
That's my plan/hope for when I get to do it someday, anyway. Ethan, Philadelphia
Negative offers: Rammalla -
too noisy; Jerusalem - You would be the only tourist your hotel room would
be the only one with light at night/ it would be a gloomy sight for the
inhabitants. Therefore, recommend in Winter: Cotchin in the state of Kerala
India it is the perfect city of heaven; Summer: Katmandu - Nepal. David,
Israel
Our vote is for Ventanas al Paraiso
Resort (Rosewood Hotels) in Los Cabos, Mexico. This is a top five
for all North American resorts. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.
The cuisine is International and the service the best in the world.
This is where Martha Stewart was visiting when she phoned in the sell her
Imclone shares. The spa is my favorite. They pamper you like
you would not believe. You have extreme privacy and the setting is
romantic. Nicholas & Marnie, Miami
a trip around the world has my favor
and it's still possible to do it with concorde (if seats on BA are not
booked up, that is). Marc, Toulouse, France
Paris is for lovers. Ilan, Frankfurt,
Germany.
and the winner for the best suggestion
is:
1) All Seasons - The Moon - Only
a handful of people have been there. If you can afford it, I hear it comes
highly recommended. The views are especially breathtaking. Watch out for
golf balls which are still floating from previous guests. Careful
on the re-entry, use a non-US carrier.
2) Winter - Trek to the North pole
or South Pole. Why? Because you have been everywhere else I think.
3) Summer - Well Ecuador is supposed
to be beautiful, and hot. I missed it on my tour, but heard it was great.
4) Solstice (Summer/Winter, whatever)
- Newgrange in Dublin, Ireland, Stonehenge in England, various pyramids
in Egypt and South America. Supposedly the most enlightening experience
you can have at these well known wonders of the ancients. Okay, Stonehenge
is not an ancient wonder, but that is not the point.
5) Chappaquidick - You two probably
could nail Kennedy if you investigated it.
6) Dallas, Texas - Same here for
his brother.
7) Desert in California - Destination....The
"lost" sets from the original Ten Commandments movie by Cecil B. Demille
in black and white and no sound. These were filled in and covered by tons
of sand and only recently in the last few years have they begun to appear.
You never said what you wanted to do on your honeymoon.
8) Lastly, rent a nice long boat,
and crew if necessary, and float wherever the tide takes you in one of
the 7 seas for a few weeks. Make sure to take the wind up radio, telephone
and flashlights so you don't worry about electricity. Keith, Boca Raton
What we're likely to do: Jerusalem
and Italy (Amalfi Coast or Isle of Capri). |
